About me
I am a journalism student part of the editing team for UCF's student publication, The Charge. I previously covered the environment and politics beats.
My inspiration for diving into journalism came from plenty of different sources: film noir, a fondness for history and a dislike of liars. I was born in Cuba, a nation not known for its freedom of the press, and came to the U.S. at a very young age.
Growing up, I liked to read and write my own stories. As I got older, I became intrigued with journalism — specifically investigative and war reporting. While my lack of skill in mathematics most definitely played a role in my career path, journalism has felt like an inevitable collision of my innate curiosity and my love for writing.
